“Behold the man!” Behold, the bones of God. Behold, Our savior, Jesus, who with unbroken bones points us back to God’s promises.
Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan for our rescue from the slavery of sin.
Instead of looking back on our sins with desire and longing, we should look back on what Christ has done for us as the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn 1:29). The unbroken bones of God reveal to us that Jesus was the perfect man, a lamb of sacrifice without blemish. By His death on the cross, our lives are marked with His blood and our sins have been passed over so that we can be free and walk away from our slavery to sin.
